Scope and Safety

> This material is a traditional astrological indication and is not medical, financial, legal, safety, or other professional advice.

In this tradition of Jyotish, Ayurveda Astrology combines planetary interpretation with Ayurvedic concepts such as vata, pitta, kapha, prakriti, the five elements, and bodily balance. It may be used to organize symbolic health tendencies, but it cannot establish a diagnosis or replace professional assessment.

Core Framework

Balance and Constitution

Traditionally, balance is treated as a central Ayurvedic principle. Excess or deficiency involving dosha, nourishment, or the seven bodily tissues may be read as a sign of disturbed equilibrium. An imbalance among the five elements may likewise be treated as a symbolic basis for discussing illness or constitutional strain.

Prakriti may refer to a person's underlying constitution. In this framework, it can be associated with bodily form, temperament, inherited family characteristics, and established patterns. The body, mind, and soul are often viewed as interconnected, so disturbance in one area may be interpreted as influencing the others.

Planetary Connections

Ayurvedic categories may be correlated with planets to interpret health-related tendencies. These associations can suggest where imbalance might be symbolically expressed, but they do not provide clinical findings.

Examples within this framework include:

  • The Moon may be associated with sleep and mental regulation. Restful sleep may consequently be interpreted as supportive of resilience.
  • Saturn may be associated with vata, aging, restricted movement, and conditions that tend to develop gradually.
  • Rahu may suggest irregular eating, unsuitable food choices, stale food, or eating at inappropriate times.

These correspondences are traditionally treated as indications requiring context rather than isolated conclusions.

Chart Assessment

Lagna and the Person

The Lagna is often read as an indicator of the person and the embodied self. In Ayurveda Astrology, it may provide a starting point for considering body, intellect, and soul. Its sign and associated influences can also suggest outward features such as build, height, complexion, hair, and apparent strength or thinness.

Guna, Timing, and Age

A reading may begin by considering whether sattva, rajas, or tamas appears more prominent in the birth chart. This can suggest a person's characteristic mode of conduct or orientation.

Current mahadasha and antardasha periods may be interpreted as temporarily modifying constitutional tendencies. Age can also affect which technique is considered relevant and how strongly an indication is assessed. The method is therefore often treated as contextual and multidimensional rather than as a fixed arithmetic table.

Condition of Planets

For health-oriented interpretation, a debilitated planet may still be treated as carrying weakness even when cancellation of debilitation is present. This differs from some general predictive approaches, where cancellation may receive greater emphasis.

Methodological Cautions

Ayurveda Astrology can use rules that differ from ordinary predictive Jyotish. Nakshatras, planets, houses, constitution, timing, and age may need to be considered together. Because detailed knowledge of bodily systems and disease is complex, astrological indications should remain separate from medical conclusions.

Gemstones should not be selected solely from the Lagna, a name-based sign, or a month-based sign within this framework. Any remedial interpretation may require a broader assessment and should not be treated as a substitute for appropriate professional care.
