Scope
> This material is a traditional astrological indication and is not medical, financial, legal, safety, or other professional advice.
In this tradition of Jyotish, houses may be examined as symbolic indicators of constitutional tendencies, imbalance, bodily systems, and periods of vulnerability. These indications should not be used to diagnose symptoms, select treatment, or replace professional care.
Prakriti and Vikriti
Prakriti is used here for the constitutional pattern associated with vata, kapha, and pitta. Vikriti refers to an imbalance or departure from that pattern. A health-oriented reading may begin by considering the indicated prakriti and then examining factors that can suggest imbalance.
Traditionally, balance among vata, kapha, and pitta is associated with health, while their imbalance may suggest possible health concerns. This remains a symbolic interpretive framework rather than a clinical assessment.
First House: Constitutional Foundation
The first house is often read as an indicator of prakriti. It may also be associated with the head, brain, mind, and patterns of mental functioning.
Planets placed in the first house may be treated as especially influential in this analysis. A difficult planetary influence there can suggest disturbance to the indicated constitution. The placement of the ascendant ruler may provide a secondary indication of prakriti and possible dosha imbalance.
Second House: Intake and Food
The second house may be considered in relation to food intake. Traditionally, moderation at this level is associated with fewer disturbances appearing through sixth-house themes. This association is symbolic and should not be treated as dietary or medical guidance.
Sixth House: Imbalance and Disease Indications
The sixth house is traditionally associated with vikriti: distortion, opposition, or imbalance affecting the indicated prakriti. It may be examined for changes involving both bodily condition and mental state, including possible stress or disequilibrium.
In this framework, planets occupying the sixth house or connected with the sixth sign may suggest disease-related tendencies. The sixth house is also associated with the liver, intestines, pancreas, spleen, stomach, and digestive processes. Disturbance involving its significations may be read as a possible route through which imbalance becomes noticeable, but it cannot establish a medical cause or diagnosis.
Coldness and kapha-related symbolism may also be considered in some sixth-house readings. Such symbolism can suggest weakness or vulnerability only within the traditional framework.
Seventh House: Digestive and Urinary Systems
The seventh house may be associated with the digestive and urinary systems. Planetary influences producing seventh-house results can therefore be interpreted through these systems, although such an interpretation should remain tentative and non-diagnostic.
Timing and Supporting Factors
Mahadasha and antardasha periods may be considered when assessing whether the indicated prakriti tends toward balance or imbalance at a particular time. These periods can supply timing context but do not predict a medical event with certainty.
Divisional-chart factors, including selected D12 combinations, may be used as supporting indications. They should be interpreted alongside the main chart and should not be treated as independent evidence of disease.
Reading Sequence
A concise traditional sequence may be expressed as follows:
- Identify the prakriti suggested by the first house, its occupants, and the ascendant ruler.
- Examine the second house for symbolic themes involving intake and food.
- Examine the sixth house and sixth sign for possible vikriti, stress, and disease-related tendencies.
- Consider the seventh house when digestive or urinary symbolism is relevant.
- Use mahadasha, antardasha, and supporting divisional factors only as contextual indications.
Any real symptom or health concern requires assessment by an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
