D10, also known as Dashamsha, is traditionally treated in Jyotish as a divisional chart for profession, career, business, employment, and work-related karma. In this tradition of Jyotish, it may be consulted when examining workplace themes such as role, promotion, authority, recognition, business activity, and professional direction.

Traditional Scope

D10 is often read as a chart of karma expressed through work. It can suggest how professional effort, status, service, trade, leadership, and public responsibilities may be interpreted within a horoscope.

Traditionally, the seventh house in D10 is associated with trade and business, while the second house may indicate themes of money, power, and politics in professional results. Trinal houses may suggest relative ease, while the upachaya houses, especially the 3rd, 6th, 10th, and 11th, are often read as areas involving effort, growth, and struggle.

Planetary Indications

Planetary symbolism may be applied within D10 for vocational interpretation. For example, the Sun can suggest government-related work, management, organizational leadership, wood-related work, or medicine-related themes such as Ayurveda. Mercury, when read as suitably placed according to the relevant sign context, may suggest skill in explaining astrology or communicating technical knowledge.

Some traditions also use D10 to consider the source of clients. Rahu may suggest foreign clients, Saturn may suggest distant clients, and Mercury may suggest local or neighborhood clients. These are symbolic indications and should be reviewed cautiously.
