Meaning

In this tradition of Jyotish, Yuti generally refers to two planets occupying the same house. It is commonly translated as a planetary conjunction and is traditionally treated as a form of planetary relationship.

Yuti is generally distinguished from planetary war. Two planets sharing a house may form a conjunction, while any separate assessment of planetary conflict may require additional conditions.

Interpretation

Planets in Yuti are often read jointly. Each planet may contribute its own indications, while their interaction can suggest a blended result rather than two entirely separate outcomes.

The quality of a Yuti may vary according to the planets involved, their relationship, the ascendant, and the wider chart context. A conjunction may therefore tend to operate differently across charts.

Degree and Orb

A same-house placement may not by itself indicate an equally strong interaction. Traditionally, the planets’ degrees and overlapping ranges of influence are also considered. Closer or effectively overlapping orbs may suggest a more active conjunction.

Conjunction-Like Exchange

A sign exchange between two planets may sometimes be interpreted through conjunction-like logic. In this approach, the exchanged planets can be read as acting together even though they do not literally occupy the same house.
