Scope and Caution

In this tradition of Jyotish, relationship strain may be assessed through several interacting factors rather than through one placement alone. A separative attitude can suggest conflict, withdrawal, competition, or thoughts of leaving, but it is not treated as proof of actual separation or divorce.
House-Based Indicators
The seventh house is traditionally associated with partnership and the marriage bond. Because the sixth house is the twelfth from the seventh, it may indicate loss, dispute, legal conflict, excessive analysis, debt, illness-related pressures, or other circumstances that can strain a relationship. The seventh lord receiving a strong sixth-house influence may similarly suggest a separative or argumentative tendency.
The second house is traditionally associated with family continuity. Difficult influences upon it may be read as possible family disruption, third-party involvement, health-related distance, or other separation-producing conditions. The first house, as the twelfth from the second, may also suggest a reduction or deterioration of the family unit in this interpretive framework.
The eighth house may indicate obstacles within married life. The tenth house, understood as the twelfth from the eleventh house of desire fulfillment, can suggest obstruction of relationship expectations. A six-eight relationship involving the second and seventh houses may be interpreted as tension between material priorities and partnership needs.
Planetary and Navamsha Factors
Saturn in the sixth house may suggest repeated periods of hardship or separation-like conditions. Saturn in the twelfth may be associated with reduced intimacy, disturbed sleep, or emotional distance. In the D9 chart, Saturn influencing the fourth house may indicate fear, negative thinking, or an inward sense of separation between partners.
Rahu may be associated with outside influence during relationship disputes, including pressure from relatives, friends, or legal representatives. Ketu in a marriage context may instead suggest mistakes, disconnection, or poor judgment; its presence alone need not indicate separation.
Dasha and Practical Context
Dashas connected with the ascendant lord, sixth house, or tenth house may coincide with periods requiring greater relationship care. Ascendant-lord or tenth-lord periods can also suggest professional growth, increased responsibility, and reduced attention to domestic life, which may contribute to frustration if other difficult factors are present.
Interpretive Standard
Traditionally, actual separation is assessed only after comparing the relevant houses, their lords, planetary influences, the D9 chart, and active dashas. Repeated and mutually reinforcing indications may suggest greater strain, while an isolated factor may describe only a temporary attitude or circumstance. Any serious relationship, health, safety, or legal concern is better addressed through appropriate real-world support.
