As a bee-woman clings to the tamala tree adorned with buds, so she takes refuge in the body of Hari adorned with the ornament of his goose-pimpled delight. May the sidelong glance of the auspicious goddess — she who has taken all prosperity unto herself — bestow auspiciousness on me.

She, enchanted, repeatedly fixes on Murari's face glances that carry both love and bashfulness, coming and going — like a line of bees on the great blue lotus. May she, of ocean birth, bestow prosperity on me.

Her half-glance — expert at granting the dizzying state of Indra's lordship over all worlds, a source of joy exceeding even that of Murari's enemy (Vishnu himself) — may it rest on me but for a moment, as her gaze, like the inner petal of a blue lotus, turns toward me.

Having reached Mukunda with joy — Mukunda who is the bulb of bliss, gazing unblinking, governed by the art of love — the eyes of the consort of him who rests on the serpent, slightly turned, with quivering lashes: may they be for my prosperity.

She who shines between the arms of the slayer of Madhu, near the Kaustubha jewel, like a necklace made of green sapphires — may the garland of sidelong glances of the lotus-dwelling goddess, which grants even Bhagavan his desires, bring me good fortune.

On the chest of the enemy of Kaitabha — that chest like a rain-bearing cloud dark as a cluster of black clouds — she flashes like a lightning-woman. May the worshipful form of the mother of all worlds, the daughter of Bhrigu, bestow blessings on me.

By whose power Manmatha (the god of love) first obtained his exalted auspicious position with the slayer of Madhu — may that languid, half-glance, gentle and slow, of the daughter of the ocean bestow itself on me.

May the cloud of the eyes of Narayana's beloved — the breeze of whose compassion flows — send down a stream of wealth on this wretched, penniless, despondent young bird, carrying far away the burning heat of past misdeeds.

By whose compassionate gaze even the noblest of the wise attain clearly the state of the three heavens — may the glance of the lotus-dwelling goddess, whose radiance is the bright inner core of the lotus, nurture in me the prosperity I desire.

As the goddess of speech, as the beauty of the Garuda-bannered one, as Shakambhari, as the beloved of the crescent-crested Shiva — I bow to her who is present in all the plays of creation, preservation, and dissolution, the youthful consort of the sole teacher of all three worlds.

Salutation to the Vedas, the mother of the fruits of auspicious deeds. Salutation to Rati, the ocean of delightful qualities. Salutation to Shakti, who dwells in the hundred-petalled lotus. Salutation to Pushti, the beloved of Purushottama.

Salutation to her whose face resembles the lotus. Salutation to her born in the ocean of milk. Salutation to her who is the sister of the moon and nectar. Salutation to the beloved of Narayana.

O you who dwell in the lotus, with lotus in hand, lovely with pure white garments, fragrance, and garlands — O Bhagavati, beloved of Hari, beautiful, bringer of prosperity to the three worlds: be gracious to me.

Her limbs bathed by the pure, beautiful water of the heavenly river poured from golden pitchers by the elephants of the directions — I bow in the morning to the mother of all worlds, wife of the lord of all realms, daughter of the ocean of nectar.

O Kamala, beloved of the lotus-eyed one — look upon me with sidelong glances rippling with floods of compassion. I am the first and most genuine vessel among the destitute, fit for your natural grace.
