इन्द्र उवाच।
नमस्तेऽस्तु महामाये श्रीपीठे सुरपूजिते।
शङ्खचक्रगदाहस्ते महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तु ते॥
Indra speaks: Salutations to you, O Great Illusion (Mahāmāyā), who dwells in the blessed seat (Śrīpīṭha) and is worshipped by the gods. O holder of the conch (śaṅkha), discus (cakra), and mace (gadā) in your hands — I bow to you, Mahālakṣmī.

नमस्ते गरुडारूढे कोलासुरभयंकरि।
सर्वपापहरे देवि महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तु ते॥
Salutations to you who rides Garuḍa (the divine eagle), who is terrifying to the demon Kolāsura. O Goddess who removes all sins — I bow to you, Mahālakṣmī.

सर्वज्ञे सर्ववरदे सर्वदुष्टभयंकरि।
सर्वदुःखहरे देवि महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तु ते॥
O all-knowing one, granter of all boons, who is terrifying to all evil-doers. O Goddess who removes all suffering — I bow to you, Mahālakṣmī.

सिद्धिबुद्धिप्रदे देवि भुक्तिमुक्तिप्रदायिनि।
मन्त्रमूर्ते सदा देवि महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तु ते॥
O Goddess who bestows siddhi (spiritual accomplishment) and buddhi (wisdom), who grants bhukti (worldly enjoyment) and mukti (liberation). O Goddess who is ever the embodiment of mantra — I bow to you, Mahālakṣmī.

आद्यन्तरहिते देवि आद्यशक्ति महेश्वरि।
योगजे योगसम्भूते महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तु ते॥
O Goddess without beginning or end, the primordial power (Ādiśakti), the supreme sovereign (Maheśvarī). O one born of yoga, who has emerged through yoga — I bow to you, Mahālakṣmī.

स्थूलसूक्ष्ममहारौद्रे महाशक्ते महोदरे।
महापापहरे देवि महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तु ते॥
O Goddess who is both gross and subtle, who is supremely fierce (mahāraudrī), who possesses great power and vast cosmic belly (mahodara). O Goddess who destroys even the greatest of sins — I bow to you, Mahālakṣmī.

पद्मासनस्थिते देवि परब्रह्मस्वरूपिणि।
परमेशि जगन्मातर् महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तु ते॥
O Goddess enthroned on the lotus (Padmāsana), who embodies the supreme Brahman (Parabrahma). O supreme sovereign (Parameśī), O Mother of the universe (Jaganmātṛ) — I bow to you, Mahālakṣmī.

श्वेताम्बरधरे देवि नानालङ्कारभूषिते।
जगत्स्थिते जगन्मातर् महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तु ते॥
O Goddess clad in white (pure) garments, adorned with many kinds of ornaments. O one who pervades and sustains the universe, O Mother of the world — I bow to you, Mahālakṣmī.

महालक्ष्म्यष्टकस्तोत्रं यः पठेद् भक्तिमान् नरः।
सर्वसिद्धिमवाप्नोति राज्यं प्राप्नोति सर्वदा॥
Whoever reads this Mahālakṣmyaṣṭaka stotra with devotion — that person attains all siddhis (spiritual accomplishments) and always gains sovereignty (prosperity and abundance).

एककाले पठेन् नित्यं महापापविनाशनम्।
द्विकालं यः पठेन् नित्यं धनधान्यसमन्वितः॥
One who recites it once daily destroys great sins. One who recites it twice daily becomes endowed with wealth and grain (abundance).

त्रिकालं यः पठेन् नित्यं महाशत्रुविनाशनम्।
महालक्ष्मीर्भवेत् तस्य प्रसन्ना वरदा शुभा॥
One who recites it three times daily destroys even great enemies. For such a devoted person, Mahālakṣmī herself becomes gracious, a bestower of boons, and auspicious.
