The Linga worshipped by the foremost gods and sages; the Linga that burned Kama (desire) to ash and is the source of compassion; the Linga that shattered the arrogance of Ravana — I bow to that eternal Shiva-Linga.

The Linga worshipped with every fragrant offering; the Linga that is the cause of the growth of wisdom and intellect; the Linga bowed to by Siddhas, gods, and demons alike — I bow to that eternal Shiva-Linga.

The Linga adorned with gold and great jewels; the Linga made resplendent by the coiling of the lord of serpents, Vasuki; the Linga that destroyed the proud sacrifice of Daksha — I bow to that eternal Shiva-Linga.

The Linga anointed with saffron and sandalwood paste; the Linga beautifully adorned with garlands of lotuses; the Linga that destroys the accumulated sins of past actions — I bow to that eternal Shiva-Linga.

The Linga worshipped and served by the hosts of gods; the Linga that is truly reached through deep feeling and devotion alone; the Linga whose radiance equals ten million suns — I bow to that eternal Shiva-Linga.

The Linga encircled above by the eight-petaled cosmic lotus; the Linga that is the cause of the arising of all creation; the Linga that destroys the eight forms of poverty — I bow to that eternal Shiva-Linga.

The Linga worshipped by Brihaspati, teacher of the gods, and by the foremost of gods; the Linga ever adorned with flowers from the celestial forests; the Linga that is beyond the beyond, the very essence of the Supreme Self — I bow to that eternal Shiva-Linga.
